You run a pay plan and a tree of distributors. This article gives you six MLM software RFP questions to put in your packet and to ask in the vendor meeting. Each one checks whether the software can pay the plan you already use.
Ask them when you meet the vendor. Have them click through their system with a small sample of your tree. If they can only answer with slides, treat that as a miss.
These questions are for MLM compensation software. They are not questions for a community site or an ambassador program. Bring your current pay rules and a few sample distributors so the answers are about your business.
1. Where does a new distributor sit, and who can move them later?
Every check starts with a place in the tree. Ask the bidder to add one person to your sample while you watch. You should see the rule that chooses the spot: the sponsor picks, the system spills over, or a written default decides.
Then ask them to move that person. You should see what happens to volume underneath, and you should see a record of who made the move. If two managers try to park the same recruit in two places, the product should say which place wins.
This is the first of the genealogy and payout questions because a quiet tree edit can change last monthâs pay. NextBee includes tree views, placement rules, depth limits, and an audit of structure changes. Those tools should work on your sample, not on a toy binary.
2. When someone hits the next rank, what actually gets paid?
Rank is the fight you already know. Ask what volume counts on the day they hit, and what is still waiting on an order that has not shipped. Ask whether a rank can freeze if a rule is missed.
You want to see the bonus lines, not a badge on a profile. Split commissions and rank bonuses should show up as money the person can understand.
If you might change the plan this year, add one plan switching demo question here. What happens to a person who is halfway to a rank when the plan changes? Which bonuses stop. Which start again. Who is allowed to turn that switch? âWe support plan switchingâ is not enough.
NextBeeâs engine includes binary plans, rank bonuses, split commissions, plan switching, and rank locks. Watch those fire on your sample. If the rank title changes and the pay grid does not, this MLM vendor demo question failed.
3. If an autoship fails, does the rank and the volume change?
Orders feed the plan. Ask them to fail one autoship or take one box back. You should see the order, the tax or inventory line, and the effect on that distributorâs volume in one place.
If a rank was already given on that volume, ask what the product does next. Holds the rank. Drops it. Waits for a clawback window. Your field will call the same day. The software should already know the rule.
NextBee handles bundles, autoship, tax, inventory, and more than one store. Those features only matter in your MLM software RFP questions if they write back into pay. A shop that cannot touch volume is a second system you will fight at month-end.
4. Can finance pay from the file the product prints?
Close the sample period. Ask for the payout file. You should see who is paid, who is held, and a line finance can match to the bank. If the product can build tax documents, have them name those documents.
âWe download a spreadsheet and payroll cleans it upâ means your team is still the engine.
If you also run contests through a rewards catalog, ask which number wins when a prize and a commission hit the same person in the same week. Two numbers with no rule is how the field stops trusting both programs.
Recruiting tools can sit next to this file. Personal links and codes are useful. They do not replace the pay file. Background on that mix is in our note on MLM tools used for recruiting. Keep the demo on the file.
5. What stops a check when identity is not finished?
MLM KYC RFP questions are about money leaving the building. Ask how the product collects identity before the first payout. Ask what a fraud flag looks like. Ask who can release a hold.
The person on hold should still be in the tree. Their downline should not disappear because a document is late. Compliance should see the queue. A sponsor should not see the passport.
NextBee includes KYC workflows, fraud alerts, IP tracking, and rank locks. Put one person in that state on the demo. The payout file from question 4 should skip them and leave the branch intact. That is a compensation engine demo question your compliance lead will thank you for.
6. What happens when a leader posts an income number?
Someone in your field will publish a number. Ask where the product blocks, stores, or flags that claim, and whether approved share language lives in the same system. A PDF in a training folder is not a control.
If that leader also uses a personal referral link outside the tree, note the shared ID and stop. Do not turn this meeting into a second referral RFP. The question is still the claim tied to a compensation check.
NextBee includes disclosure tools and pre-approved share content. Have them show the prompt on the same leader who just hit rank in question 2.
What NextBee should show in that meeting
Ask these MLM software RFP questions in order. NextBee should show a placement with a history, a rank that writes pay lines, a missed order that changes volume, a file finance can use, a KYC hold that does not wipe a downline, and a control on an income claim.
Our MLM pricing is tied to program results. Security follows SOC 2 and GDPR. Those points belong after the six questions, not instead of them. If one question fails on your sample, write that down. A NextBee MLM RFP invite is not an award.

FAQ
What are these MLM software RFP questions trying to decide?
Whether the product can place people, pay a rank, correct a bad order, print a file finance trusts, hold a check for KYC, and control an income claim.
Do we send our whole live tree?
No. Send a small sample that still has a rank change and a returned order. The full file waits for a pilot.
Can we ask about the mobile app too?
Yes, after these six. The app does not matter if the pay file is wrong.
